Description:
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and support one or more software engineering teams within our Technology organization. This is a senior leadership role that requires a strong balance of technical expertise, people management, and strategic thinking. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for ensuring teams are set up for success, delivering high-quality product features, managing technical debt, and continuously improving development practices while aligning with business priorities.
This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders, technical leadership, and a proactive approach to anticipating challenges and driving sustainable solutions. The ideal candidate leads by example, fosters a strong engineering culture, and maintains high standards of excellence, judgment, and accountability.
What will you do?
- Lead, mentor, and manage software engineering teams, ensuring productivity, engagement, and technical excellence.
- Balance business needs with team capacity, product usability, and long-term platform sustainability.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Business, and other stakeholders to define and negotiate requirements.
- Oversee the delivery of projects, ensuring timelines, quality standards, and technical requirements are met.
- Guide technical decision-making, including architecture, tools, technologies, and best practices.
- Partner closely with Technical Leads throughout all phases of the development lifecycle.
- Review code and processes to ensure scalability, quality, and alignment with company standards.
- Identify and resolve complex technical issues across coding, testing, and deployment.
- Conduct technical interviews, hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance reviews.
- Promote a transparent, collaborative, and growth-oriented team culture.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and development best practices.
- Provide clear communication, progress updates, and presentations to relevant stakeholders.
- Occasionally participate in exploratory programming, proofs of concept, or refactoring initiatives.
- Participate in on-call rotations or weekend availability as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 10+ years of experience as a Software Engineer or in a related technical role.
- At least 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role such as Technical Lead, Engineering Manager, or similar.
- Strong understanding of modern software development concepts, system design, and database principles.
- Proven experience leading teams delivering and maintaining large scale web applications.
- Experience working with cloud platforms, with strong preference for AWS, and familiarity with SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, and FaaS models.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence at senior leadership levels.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced, collaborative environment.
- Demonstrated ability to build trust, manage conflict, and lead through change.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
