Description:

We are seeking a Staff Platform Engineer to play a key role in defining and enhancing Developer Experience across the engineering organization. This position focuses on building and maintaining internal tools, shared services, libraries, and frameworks that empower Product Engineering teams to deliver high-quality software efficiently and securely.

You will design and maintain resilient CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code solutions, security enforcement mechanisms, monitoring systems, and logging platforms. These tools will be treated as internal products, with strong emphasis on usability, adoption, and measurable impact on engineering performance.

Success in this role will directly contribute to improved developer productivity, faster time to market, stronger reliability, greater standardization, and reduced operational overhead. The role also partners closely with AI and Developer Experience leadership to integrate modern AI-driven development tooling.

What will you do?

  • Define, design, and drive adoption of internal platform products, including tools, libraries, frameworks, and shared services.
  • Build and optimize CI CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code practices to enable secure and scalable software delivery.
  • Establish and automate security policies, compliance checks, and vulnerability scanning within the development lifecycle.
  • Standardize architectural patterns, engineering practices, and technology choices across teams.
  • Define and maintain the platform roadmap based on engineering feedback and delivery performance metrics such as DORA.
  • Implement AI-related development methodologies, including Specification-Driven Development and AI-powered code-review tooling.
  • Mentor engineers on platform best practices, service ownership, and operational excellence.

Requirements:
  • +5 years of professional software engineering experience.
  • At least 3 years focused on platform engineering, infrastructure, or Developer Experience initiatives.
  • Strong proficiency in one or more backend languages such as Clojure, Python, JavaScript, or Go.
  • Solid understanding of CI CD principles and Infrastructure as Code methodologies.
  • Experience building and maintaining internal tools, SDKs, or frameworks to improve developer productivity.
  • Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure including services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, EKS or ECS, IAM, and VPC networking.
  • Hands on experience with Git and GitHub including repository management, branching strategies, and pull request workflows.
  • Strong knowledge of software architecture patterns such as microservices and event driven systems.
  • Experience implementing security best practices within the SDLC.
  • Excellent communication skills and proven ability to drive cross functional adoption of standards and tooling.
  • Advanced English-speaking.
Nice to have:
  • Experience designing and optimizing GitHub Actions and workflows for CI CD pipelines.
  • Exposure to AI based development tooling or methodologies such as Spec Driven Development.
